In a natural environment, cows can live up to 25 years, but because they are so heavily exploited by humans, they often live only about 2 years. Animals are bred not only for coats but, increasingly, trim for hooded jackets and fur pompoms used on hats, gloves, shoes, and other clothing and accessories.
